Chapter 5 A Debt To Pay

Lily alighted from the cab, paid the driver walked into the Art Gallery

"Good morning Lily, you are late today which is very unusual" Lily's colleague said

"Oh, she's resigning today that's why" Anna said as she walked up to meet Lily

"Resigning?!" her colleagues exclaimed

"Yeah" Lily smiled

"Excuse me" she said as she pulled Anna to a quiet corner

"Hey" Lily said

"Go on, explain what happened yesterday" Anna said

"I..... ummm..... Can you wait a bit let me hand my resignation letter to Micheal first?" Lily said in a bid to avoid Anna's questioning

"You are really serious about this resigning stuff?" Anna enquired

"Of course" Lily nodded

"He is going to fire me anyway so it's better I resign first"

"And after you resign, then what?" Anna asked

"Then I'll get a new job" Lily smiled

"And you think it's that easy huh? You think it's easy for an artist to get a decent paying job nowadays?" Anna asked

"It can't be that hard, and don't try to persuade me Anna, I am going to resign, I even have my letter with me" Lily smiled and Anna nodded

"Fine, go ahead" Anna motioned and Lily beamed a smile at her

"I'll be back" Lily said and walked off

Anna watched as her best friend walked off to the director's office, she really wanted to stop her from resigning, she didn't want Lily to leave her to work all alone here

Anna sighed

She just hopes Lily is not making a big mistake

Lily walked in to Micheal's office and Michael smiled as he saw Lily

"I knew you'll be back to apologize" he said

"You wish" Lily said as she brought out her resignation and placed it in front Micheal

"Here, I'm resigning" she said

"What?!!" Michael exclaimed taken aback

"I decided you aren't worth being my boss" Lily smiled

"You've got to be kidding me" Micheal said as he quickly opened Lily's letter

"What?! Jerk?! Very tiny D?! Scumbag?!!" Micheal exclaimed angrily

"You know what? You are fired Lily Martini!!"

"Sorry but you can't fire me Micheal, I already quit" Lily said and made to walk out but she stopped and turned back

"I hope I never see your disgusting face again, ever!" Lily said and walked out leaving Micheal awestruck

"This feels good" Lily smiled as she walked to where Anna stood waiting for her

"You look happy" Anna said

"I feel fulfilled" she said and Anna sighed

"I just hope you won't regret this"

"You worry too much Anna" Lily smiled

"Fine then, so? Where did you go off to last night?" Anna enquired

"You promise you won't see me as a really bad girl if I tell you?" Lily asked and Anna nodded

"Well, I had a one night stand with this cute and handsome guy I met at the back of the clubhouse" Lily stated

"You had sex with a stranger?!" Anna exclaimed and Lily quickly motioned for her to be quiet

"Quiet Anna, else everyone will hear you" Lily said

"Sorry sorry" Anna apologized

"And we didn't really have sex, we just kissed and did a few things...." Lily's voice trailed off as she remembered last night

Leonardo didn't have sex with her right? It can only be called sex if he put his D inside him and he didn't, apart from the crazy kissing, he didn't really touch her at all, yet he made her have that intense orgasm, it felt so nice

"Are you thinking about the stranger?" Anna asked jerking Lily from her thoughts

"What?"

"Well you stopped talking and suddenly started smiling" Anna said

"I smiled?" Lily asked and Anna nodded

"Did this stranger have such a big effect on you?" Anna asked

"You don't understand Anna, there was something different about him, he told me he loved my name, no one has ever told me that" Lily said

"And he had this tattoos of lilies all over his chest, it was so beautiful and enchanting" Lily added

"Its obvious you are already enchanted by him" Anna said

"Am I?" Lily asked

"If you fancy that stranger so much then you can always meet up with him again, did he give you his contact or his card?" Anna enquired and Lily shook her head

"You don't know anything about him?!" Anna asked wide-eyed

"Only his name, Leonardo" Lily said

"That's all? Come on Lily, you should gotten his contact before leaving!" Anna stated

"I would've Anna but I passed out, he drugged me and when I woke up, he wasn't there" Lily said

"What?! He drugged you?!" Anna exclaimed

"Yup, and that was the end of my bittersweet one night stand" Lily shrugged

"If that's how everything ended then you should forget him Lily" Anna said and Lily nodded

"Yeah, I should probably forget him"

"Yes you should, so, did you speak with Jason?" Anna asked

"Yeah, I'm supposed to meet up with him tonight" Lily mentioned

"That's good, meet up with Jason and forget the Leonardo guy" Anna said and Lily smiled

"I should go, let me not keep you from your work, I'm the one that's unemployed now not you"

"Are you already regretting your decision to resign?" Anna asked

"Definitely not, I'll start my job search tomorrow so do not worry about me" Lily said as she stood up

"Fine then, have fun with Jason" Anna said

"I'll try" Lily said as she walked out

She took a cab back home and slumped on the couch immediately she entered her apartment

She wanted to have a little sleep before nightfall but each time she closes her eyes, she sees Leonardo's face

"Get out of my head stranger, get out!!" she yelled as she sprang up

"This is not working" she said as she stood up to take her drawing book and pen

"Sometimes it helps to draw out your problems" she said as she sat down and began to draw whatever came to her head

Few hours later, Lily had fallen asleep on her desk and the floor was filled with different drawings of Leonardo's face

"Oh my God" she muttered as she slowly opened her eyes

She glanced at her watch and it was twenty minutes past six

Oh no, she was supposed to meet up with Jason by six!!

She quickly stood up and dashed into her room, took a quick shower and styled her hair

She walked out and stopped a cab to the address Jason had sent her, it was a restaurant

She walked in and sighted Jason seated alone on a table and she went up to him

"Lily" Jason called as he saw her

"I am so sorry for keeping you waiting, I slept off again" she said and Jason smiled

"No problem, I would've come picked you up myself but I was really busy at the office and I wasn't lonely while waiting, I was staring at your pictures" Jason said

"My pictures?!" Lily asked surprised

"Yeah, I got them from Anna, look here, you look so good here" Jason said as he showed Lily her picture on his phone and Lily laughed

"Come on, I wasn't prepared for that shot so I look like dog poop"

"But you were smiling, and you look beautiful when you smile" Jason stared at Lily

"Thank you" Lily muttered

She was a bit uncomfortable with Jason's stare

"Oh where are my manners, the menu catalogue is in front of you, what will you like to eat?" Jason enquired and Lily smiled and took the catalogue to look through

Lily made a choice and they ordered their meal

They talked and laughed as they ate

Lily had to admit, Jason had a nice personality and he's fun to be with

"I heard from Anna that you resigned from your current job" Jason said

"Seems like you and Anna talk about me alot" Lily said

"Well I called her this evening and we ended up talking about you, I'm sorry about that" Jason apologized

"No it's okay" Lily smiled

"I work at the DiCaprio Empire" Jason stated

"The notorious Mafia Empire?!!" Lily exclaimed

"So you are a Mafia too?!"

"I.... Well I can't say I'm not but I mostly do the office work, we run some casinos and loan out money to people in need" Jason explained

"I've heard a lot about that empire and they are all not good, I heard no one dares to go against you guys else they end up dead the next day" Lily said and Jason smiled

"A Mafia is not all about beating people up and being a gangster Lily, we are quiet as long as no one obstructs our lane" Jason explained and Lily nodded

"Would you like to come work for us?" Jason asked

"Work at the Mafia Empire?!" Lily exclaimed

"Don't worry, you won't be holding guns, you are an artist so you can handle the digital design area" Jason said

"Thanks for the offer Jason but working at the DiCaprio Mafia Empire? I don't think I'm up for that" Lily concluded

"Don't make a hasty decision, think about it and when we meet again, you can let me know of your final decision" Jason said and Lily nodded

They talked some more and Jason dropped Lily off at her house

Lily was about to open her door when she sighted a shadow behind her and she flinched

"Dad!!" she exclaimed as she saw who it was

"Been a long time Lily" her father said

"What are you doing here Dad?" Lily asked

Since her parents divorced and her Dad went off with another lady, she hasn't been on good terms with him

"Won't you let me in first?" her Dad asked and Lily sighed as she opened the door and they walked inside to the living room

"Who's this?" Lily's Dad asked as he picked up one of the drawings of Leonardo that was scattered on the floor

"None of your business Dad" Lily said as she collected the drawing from her father and packed up the ones on the floor

"What brought you here?" Lily asked and her father's countenance change to a helpless one

"I need your help Lily" he said

"What is it now Dad, did you go gambling again?" she asked

"Not that, I actually lost my job so I borrowed some money for my games"

"You mean your gambling games" Lily said angrily

"I lost all the money and I'm running out of time, I have to pay up the money in the next 3 days" her Dad explained

"Well that's your business Dad, I just resigned from my job today so I have no money, you'll have to pay up your loan yourself" Lily stated

"They will take your mother's house if I don't pay up Lily" her Dad said

"You used Mom's house as collateral?!!" Lily yelled

"I'm sorry" her Dad apologized and Lily sighed

"How much are we talking about here and who loaned you the money?" Lily enquired

"One million dollars Lily, and I got the money from DiCaprio Mafia Empire" her Dad uttered

"What?!!!" Lily exclaimed as the drawings she was holding fell off her hand......
