Chapter 4 I Want To Have A Baby

"I want to have a baby," Lake said. I paused in dressing up and faced him. He was still sitting on his couch, wearing only his boxers.

"Why are you telling me this?" I asked.

"Because I want you to bear my child. You're the one I want to be the mother of my future child," he said in a casual tone.

"What do you think of me, a breeding sow?" I angrily retorted.

"Just to remind you, you still owe me 20 million."

"What? I thought if I agreed, I'd be settled with the payment."

"Do you think sleeping with you once is enough to cover the 20 million you owe? Do you really think you're that special? I've had sex with women who are prettier than you and better in bed for free. You're not even good in bed," he said.

"You're an asshole." My eyes narrowed in anger. How can he be so cruel? Earlier, he was gentle with me, and now he's treating me like this!

"This asshole is going to be the father of your future child," he teased.

On one side of my mind, I wanted to tell him that he has been a father for a long time, and we already have a child. But I'm afraid that if I disclose this information, he might take Kurt away from me. I don't know what I would do if that happens. I know Lake; he would do anything to get what he wants.

He walked towards his desk and took a piece of paper. He approached me and handed it to me. "Here, sign this."

"What is this?" I took the paper and read it. It stated that I needed to bear his child to pay off the 20 million, and I couldn't have any other sexual partner except him.

"After you give birth, I'll have the DNA test done to make sure. So don't you dare sleep around with other guys," he said.

"Oh, don't worry. I'll just use protection when I sleep with other guys." Of course, I'm not going to sleep with other men. I just said that out of irritation towards him. He was degrading me every chance he got!

He glared at me and grabbed my arm. "Don't you dare. Don't you fucking dare. Don't test me, Avery."

"I-it hurts," I said.

It was as if he got burned, and he quickly let go of me. He took a deep breath. "Leave. I'll just call you when I need you again."

I hurriedly left and went back to my son at the hospital. When I arrived, Marlon and his boyfriend Gerald were already there.

"You've been looking for your son for a while. Where did you go?" Marlon asked while peeling an orange.

"Uh, business meeting." I lied. I approached Kurt, who was peacefully sleeping, and kissed him on the forehead.

"Business meeting? Is that how you look after a meeting? You look like you've been tossed around by a whirlwind. Look at your clothes, all crumpled, and your hair is a mess. Goodness, you're going out like that?" He commented.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Sofia told us! What's wrong with my godson?" Marlon asked.

"Leukemia." I answered. My eyes started to water. I gently stroked Kurt's head.

"What?!" Gerald and Marlon exclaimed almost simultaneously.

"Why didn't you tell us?" Marlon asked.

"We just found out yesterday," I said.

"I'm sorry," Gerald said.

"Damn! You already have a huge problem with your business, and now you're given another significant problem," Marlon commented. "Don't worry; we'll help you as much as we can. Right, honey?"

"Of course," Gerald replied.

"Thank you." I smiled. I feel blessed to have wonderful friends like them. "Oh, by the way, I met Lake today."

"Oh my God! So many revelations! What did you say to him about Kurt?" Marlon asked. He's the only one who knows what Lake did to me, and he's also the only one who knows that Lake is Kurt's father.

"Who is Lake?" Gerald asked.

"None of your business," Marlon glared at his boyfriend. Gerald just shrugged and went back to watching TV. He sat next to me. "So, what happened? Did you slap him? Punch him? Murder him?" He asked in a hushed tone.

"Something happened," I said weakly.

"Did he rape you again?" He said angrily.

"No."

"Did you want it? You're such a crazy woman! You had sex with the man who raped you and got you pregnant."

"Just let me explain first." I rolled my eyes. I told him everything, including the contract Lake and I signed.

"He wants to impregnate you? That man has some nerve. He's nerve-wracking!" Marlon exclaimed.

"I can't do anything about it. It's either I give him a baby or go to jail," I said.

"Oh, this is too much. I can't handle it, girl!" Marlon sighed dramatically.

Several days passed before Lake called me. His secretary called and asked me to go to his office. When I got there, his secretary was already packing her things. She was putting everything in a box.

"Are you leaving?" I asked.

"Oh, yes. Mr. Northstar gave me a large sum to quit my job. It's enough to start a business." She replied. "He's waiting for you inside."

I entered Lake's office. He was busy signing papers.

"They said you wanted to see me." He looked up, and I took a seat.

"Avery, you'll be my new secretary." He said.

"What?"

"From now on, you'll be working for me."

"No, I don't want to."

"I'm not asking if you want to work for me or not. You will work for me whether you like it or not. Your company is closing, and you won't have a job. You might as well work for me. Don't worry; you'll still have a salary. See that table over there? That will be your working space." He pointed to the table near the door, opposite his desk.

"Shouldn't I be outside your office?" I asked.

"Nah, I want you here."

"Why?"

"So that we can expedite the process of making our baby." He winked.

My cheeks flushed. That perverted asshole! I knew he had a hidden agenda!

"So, what am I really? Am I your secretary, your sex slave, or baby maker? Make up your mind." I said sarcastically.

"All of the above. Shall we start now?"

"Start what?"

He approached me, and I went along. He pulled me to sit on his lap. He kissed my neck, and I felt his hand on my chest. "This," he whispered in my ear.
